The Tudors ruled
England from 1485 to 1603. The first Tudor king was Henry VII.
He became king after the battle of Bosworth Field, which ended the War
of the Roses. The way of life for ordinary people in England
changed a lot as a result of many things that happened during the Tudor
era.
King Henry VIII is
probably the most famous King that England has ever had. Henry
married six times and had two of his wives beheaded! He had two
daughters, Mary and Elizabeth and a son, Edward.
The Stuarts
followed the Tudors to the throne of England when Elizabeth I died
without having children. James I, son of Mary Queen of Scots
became the first King of both England and Scotland.
The Gunpowder
Plot, the Great Plague and the Fire of London all happened during
the Stuart era.
